MEDIUM:

Acrylic polymer on 15 - 18oz canvas

DIMENSIONS:

1510mm x 1870mm
After being teased by other kids because of his large eyes, the small Water Snake's father took him and travelled through Yakabindie Lake, Wiluna, Jigalong, other side of Karilwara, through to Wintjalkarrara, Multju, Purlpurlpungu, Snake Well, Piyul and towards Pukarra. The painting shows the Warnampi Kutjarra (Two Water Snakes) camping at the claypan Wintjalkarrara. The stripes and colours on the snakes are significant in that they represent the different bush food/plants these snakes gathered: pukarra, walukura, yurn (on father); walukura, kalin kalin and yultukun (on son).
