< Go Back

YEAR:

1991

MEDIUM:

Acrylic polymer on 15 - 18oz canvas

DIMENSIONS:

1880mm x 2400mm
This painting shows a part of the Warnampi Kutjarra (two snakes) epic. These two snakes, a father and son, left Pukarra (near Wingellina) heading towards Wiluna. After growing up and becoming a man, the son with his father, returned to Pukarra, passing near Warburton Ranges. Here the water snakes are making rockholes from Wintjalkarrara to Piyul, on the way. The father covers the son as he is rash, young and angry, eager to return and revenge the cruel treatment he received by those at Pukarra when he was a child (owing to his large bright eyes)
